Your List of Ingredients
1 jar of Mixed nuts- unsalted Kirkland brand.
2 cups of dried cranberries
1/2 cup of Maple syrup
1/4 cup Olive oil
Spice mix- Salt, Pepper, Cumin Powder, Pomegranate Powder (anar dana), Cayenne pepper. Mix these depending on how much of each you would want. I did not not want it very spicy so added the least amount of Cayenne.
Step 1: Let’s Get Started
Heat up a large sauté pan.
Add the oil and let it heat up.
Empty the jar of nuts and start roasting them
Once the nuts begin to brown we add in the spices
Lastly pour over the maple syrup and mix everything well.
Mix on low, till you can get the aromatic smell of all the nuts and spices. Turn of the heat.
Line a baking tray with parchment paper and pre heat oven at 350 F
Empty the nuts on to the tray and spread them out
Bake in a hot oven for 10-15 mins at 350
Take it out. Allow it to cool completely and then store in a air tight jar.
Tips: The spices are totally optional. You can omit some or add any one in particular if you like.
Keep a close watch while the nuts are in the oven. We don't want them to burn. Just a little bit of crunch. Once cooled, the maple syrup forms a nice coating on the nuts and the spices all stick well to it. So make sure to cool the nuts completely. Lastly experiment and have fun making this recipe.
